Part-Time Records Room Clerk
Summary:
The purpose of this position is to preform efficient administrative and clerical support.
This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
Essential Duties
- Performs a variety of clerical tasks in support of department functions, including but not limited to establishing and maintaining files and maintaining computer record-keeping functions and deposits.
- Assists customers and other department employees by responding to questions.
- Greets and directs visitors, resolves routine administrative problems and answers inquiries concerning office activities.
- Sorts, screens, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail; drafts or prepares responses to routine inquiries; prepares photocopies and facsimiles.
- Indexes deeds, mortgages, power of attorneys, plats, mech liens, UCC, and tax liens etc.
- Generates reports in response to customer/court requests.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications
- High School graduation or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of clerical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of real estate and/or deed records management experience preferred

Physical Demands
- Performs sedentary work that involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time: requires little or no dexterity.
