County Fire Coordinator

• Summary:
• The purpose of this position is to be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Abbeville County Fire Protection Service District, ensuring prompt response to 911 calls and the provision of quality fire suppression. Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures and protocols. Monitors and ensures the provision of adequate supplies and equipment. Completes required records. Performs duties relating to the coordination of all services for the County Fire District. Assist the volunteer fire departments in developing plans, training, purchasing, and inspection of facilities and equipment.This class reports to the Public Safety Director through various methods including periodic meetings, generating reports, and completing designated work assignments.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications

• Associates degree in Fire Science or related field.
• Five (5) years of fire service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Special Certifications and Licenses:

• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain Fire Marshal certification, Firefighter II, and Hazardous Materials Technician certification.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
