POSITION OVERVIEW

Prepare daily log of incoming legal documents, state and county documentary stamps and recording fees.

Title 30 Chapter 5 – Time stamp, recording and scanning of conveyances, affidavits, mortgages and other legal documents concerning title to land.  Recording bankruptcy proceedings, plats, contracts, bond for title, release or satisfactions, assignments or transfers of mortgage and modifications.  Recording and indexing federal tax liens, mechanic’s liens, powers of attorney and revocations, UCC financing statements regarding real estate, notice of Project of Commencement, manufactured home title retirement and manufactured home lien affidavit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Handling daily duties and transmission of required legal documents to proper offices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma and two (2) years legal experience.

Other requirements:

  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and testing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

General office skills, accounting or bookkeeping experience, ability to handle difficult situations and works well with others and the public.
