Landfill Supervisor

Summary:
The purpose of this position is to supervise the daily operations of the process facility, MSW and C&D landfills.
This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
Essential Duties
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
- Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
- Completes Purchase Orders.
- Orders supplies as needed.
- Inspects incoming trucks.
- Maintains all aspects of Landfill operations within SCDHEC specifications.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three (3) years of related solid waste or construction experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
- DHEC Certification for Landfill Supervision.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
